Those looking for a light breakfast can go to Legal Grounds Cafe on the ground floor of GSU Law. Legal Grounds has a selection of fine coffees along with pastries in the morning.
Octane Coffee and The Little Tart are two businesses housed together to create Atlanta's ultimate coffee and pastry duo. Octane is Atlanta's own coffee company and is often touted as having the best coffee in the city. The Little Tart hand makes every pastry fresh every morning, leaving you with flaky, buttery goodness. Located about two miles from GSU Law, this may be a great stop if you want something lighter before heading home.
Located about two blocks South of GSU Law, Ebrik has great coffee, a great staff, and a comfortable atmosphere that invites you to stay for a while. Ebrik specializes in authentic Turkish coffee, but one is able to get the coffees from all over the world along with a selection of pastries.
Condesa is located just East of GSU Law, in the historic Auburn Market area. Located in the historic Atlanta Daily World building, Condesa prides itself on its commitment to historic preservation. Condesa serves locally roasted coffee and a selection of breakfast items, pastries, and small plates.
If you want a taste of a southern institution, there is a Waffle House located one block east of GSU Law. This is your typical greasy spoon breakfast, complete with eggs, bacon, toast, grits and, of course, waffles.
Lunch and Afternoon
Broad St NW, located one block west of GSU Law, is almost nothing but restaurants for three blocks. You can find almost anything that you may want for lunch in this area and it is only two minutes from GSU Law.
Alma Cocina brings a contemporary flare to authentic Mexican and Latin cuisine. Offering a special lunch menu Monday through Friday, Cocina is a good place to run for great food. Located just over a block north of GSU Law, right past the conference hotel.
Located in the Peachtree Center Mall, just north of GSU Law, Aviva by Kameel offers fresh, local Mediterranean food. Aviva uses Halal meat products and strives to provide a healthy experience. This is located in the food court, so is counter service and quick.
The Busy Bee Cafe is an Atlanta tradition. Truly the best fried chicken you may ever have. It is a traditional meat and three that gets very busy at lunch so go early. Located just under 2 miles southwest of the law school, you might want to Uber it.
Gus's is the home of spicy fried chicken. Varying a bit day to day, sometimes it's just a bit hot, sometimes it's so hot it'll leave you grabbing for your sweet tea. Along with the traditional sides, this place will let you know you're truly in The South. Located in the Mall at Peachtree Center, Gus's is about two blocks North of GSU Law.
A historic indoor market with meats, produce, and restaurants, Sweet Auburn Market gives you a choice of places to eat if your group can't decide on where to eat. Options include BBQ, Soul, Caribbean, burritos, pies and burgers. Sweet Auburn Market is located one block south and four blocks east of GSU Law.
Meehan's Downtown is a traditional American style Irish pub. With a good selection of beer, burgers, sandwiches, and traditional Irish fare, Meehan's can be a great place to relax in the evening. Meehan's is located one half block north of the conference hotel.
Located directly across the street from the conference hotel, Juke Joint is a modern take on classic southern soul food. The moonshine cocktails are a real draw to this great restaurant.
If you are looking for a special dinner one night during the conference, Polaris may be the ticket. Located at the top of the Hyatt Regency, Polaris is a circular restaurant which makes a full rotation once per hour. The restaurant features great food and drinks and would make for a memorable night. Located one block from the conference hotel.
Sway is also located in the Hyatt Regency. Known for its great Southern fare, especially its fried chicken, Sway is an easy walk away for a night you're really hungry. This restaurant has Atlanta's only nightly pie bar, in case you really want to indulge. Located about two blocks North of the conference hotel.
The Market is a grab-and-go coffee shop in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency. Open 24 hours, the Market has a constant selection of food and coffee, whenever the mood may strike you. Located approximately two blocks North of the Conference Hotel.
