LibGuides: CALI Conference 2016: Introduction

Overview

The 2016 CALI Conference for Law School Computing will take place at Georgia State University College of Law June 16-18, 2016. This guide will provide information about the conference as well as the Atlanta area so participants can enjoy their downtime in the great city of Atlanta.

The Ritz-Carlton is located in downtown Atlanta, one block north of Georgia State University School of Law.

Transportation

MARTA
The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, known as MARTA, runs trains and buses throughout the Atlanta Metro area.

If you would like to take advantage of MARTA upon arrival, you can get on the train at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and get off at Peachtree Center Station. This will leave you less than one block from the conference hotel and across the street from Georgia State University College of Law.

Uber
Uber requires downloading of the Uber app to your smartphone. It refers to itself as part of the sharing economy and rides are given by subcontractors in their personally owned cars. Uber drivers are everywhere in Atlanta, and an Uber can normally be hailed within a few minutes. It will cost approximately $15 to ride between the conference hotel and airport.

Currently, most Uber drivers are not legally able to pick up from the airport. Some of the Uber Black drivers do have the tokens which will allow them to legally pick up.
