Both the author and the title of the book or report are in small caps.

Edition information is not included for works that have only been published as one edition. Generally, publisher information is not included. Only include the publisher if the publisher of the edition being cited is not the original publisher.

Shorter works in a collection are cited similarly to journals, with the inclusion of in prior to the citation information for the larger work.

Reports and white papers are cited like books.

A journal is consecutively paginated if each issue in a volume continues the pagination from the earlier issue. For example, the first page of issue 1 is page 1, but the first page of issue 2 is page 170, not page 1.

A journal is non-continuously paginated if each issue begins on page 1, regardless of that issue's place in the volume. For example, the ABA Journal is non-continuously paginated, because each issue's pagination begins on page 1.

Student-written materials such as notes and comments receive a "Note," "Comment," or similar designation in Roman type immediately prior to the case name.

Similarly to student works, articles noted as "commentary, "dedication," or another special designation receive that designation in Roman type immediately prior to the case name.

Generally, newspapers are cited in same way as nonconsecutively paginated journals.
